About the Name
For us, Brix represents the optimal time to spend with others. Brix, by definition, is a measurement of the sugar content in grapes and wine. When grapes reach 25 degrees Brix, they have reached their optimal time for the wine harvest. We want our restaurant to be the perfect place for you to gather with family and friends.
About the Propietor
Proprietor Ashwani Ahluwalia, discovered his taste for the hospitality industry at the young age of 15. By the age of 18, he had not only graduated with honors from college in Bermuda, but he had joined the team at the fine-dining restaurant Romanoff in Bermuda.
Gaining experience and talent as he progressed through his career, Ashwani made his way from Bermuda to the Grand Cayman Islands, and finally here to the US where he settled down in the community of Great Falls. As Executive Chef at River Bend Country Club for eight years, and Assistant Manager for his last two years, he was considered family by most. During this time, he started a family as his own. Ashwani was General Manager at The Tavern in Great Falls for the previous five years, right up until the time he was presented with the opportunity to open Brix. He has created Brix in his image, one of family, friendship, and a strong sense of community.
